Frequently asked questions

How does the free trial work?

Register for an account and book your first lesson. We use your course choice and learner details to match an appropriate educator. Trial terms are shown at checkout.

Do you teach children and adults?

Yes. Courses are labelled by age group, and educators are matched by the ages they teach well.

Are lessons 1-to-1?

Most of our courses are live 1-to-1. Quranic Arabic can run as a small group. The course page always says which.

Can I choose a male or female teacher?

Yes. Tell us your preference when you register. Matching also considers course, level, availability and teaching experience.

How are teachers selected?

Educators apply to The Quran Source and pass qualification review, Quran assessment, teaching assessment, interview and safeguarding checks where applicable. See Our teachers for the full process.

Is every tutor DBS checked?

No. A listing here means the educator has been approved to teach on this platform after our selection process. We only describe a statutory background check when a verification record exists for that educator.

Can a parent see a child’s progress?

Yes, where the student is a child and a parent or guardian is linked to the account. Parents see lessons, attendance, homework and progress they are permitted to see.

Can complete beginners join?

Yes. Several courses start from the alphabet and qaida. Use the course finder if you are unsure which path fits.
